Our food is freeze-dried to last more than 30 years when stored at room temperature. Water and oxygen are the two primary causes of food deterioration and spoilage. Freeze drying removes water and oxygen from food, thus making it last substantially longer than other types of stored food.
Because our food products are freeze-dried, they weigh considerably less than traditional canned or non-perishable foods. This makes the food easier to transport in an emergency or even on a family camping trip.
Just add water to your freeze-dried meal, and in 15-20 minutes, they are ready to serve. It’s quick, easy and most importantly, delicious!
During the freeze-drying process, fresh or cooked foods are flash- frozen when the food tastes its best. The food remains frozen during the process of removing the water and oxygen from the food. Once those elements are reintroduced to the food, the freshness of the food is retained. The process of freeze-drying also makes it virtually impossible for harmful bacteria to survive.
Because freeze-dried foods are flash-frozen, their vitamin and nutritional content is effectively preserved. Freeze-dried foods also retain their original flavor when water is replaced.
